The specific change requested drops Policy 3.4.5 which refers to Bay Point DRI Map H that details what land use is permitted in Bay Point. If the county allows the change then the property becomes available for use for other than recreation and/or open-space. Further, the State changes referred to by Ms. Capps were enacted to lessen State participation in land-use actions and strengthen local county/municipality participation in land-use actions. I believe that Ms. Capps is unaware of any deeper plans that Torchlight intends to take in Bay Point but is entrusted with communicating to the Bay Point community the responses deemed appropriate by Torchlight. The real question is what does Torchlight intends to do with their investment in Bay Point? Renovations to the resort property must also be well underway if they plan to reopen by August. Why do you state that nothing can be added? It appears that as long as you stay within the designated footprint and usage of the property you may make improvements, etc. Perhaps there is a plan to build something where the park currently stands. I understand there used to be a facility there for parties, meetings and such. Maybe I nice new restaurant is coming. Whatever the reason I think some assurances that the Meadows Course is going to remain so and reopen would go a long way to alleviate concerns with this proposed change. We residents must follow regulations why not you guys? Because you’re wealthy and can afford to change rules to suit your needs? We can’t. In fact, we get abused by the golf course daily, so why should we not fight any change that makes life easy for the golf corse and opens the door for more noise, drunks, damage, danger, and trespassing?
