The delivery organization DoorDash has not been cooperative in helping to ensure that its delivery drivers obey the traffic rules when they enter Bay Point. A significant number of the DoorDash drivers willfully disregard our traffic rules when they enter our community; for instance, they do not comply with security officer requests, do not stop when requested by security patrol, flee from security officers, exceed the posted speed repeatedly (as high as in excess of 50 MPH inside Bay Point), etc. We requested assistance from DoorDash corporate, but have not yet received a positive response.
Accordingly and unfortunately, we have no choice but to take the following action until DoorDash corporate cooperates with our community: Effective Monday, February 15, 2021, DoorDash delivery drivers will not be permitted to enter upon Bay Point roads for any purpose.
Users of delivery services should make arrangements to use other delivery services, which act responsibly by ensuring their drivers adhere to local traffic safety rules. A partial, but not all inclusive, listing of delivery companies that service the local area include: Uber Eats, Zomato, GrubHub, and Postmates (BPCA does not endorse any particular company).
We regret to have to take this action, but we value resident and guest safety over any delivery company’s need for access into our community.
