The long awaited start of the 2019 Men’s Golf Association (MGA) tournament schedule commenced Friday, March 8, on Bay Point’s Nicklaus course. Under beautiful skies, the MGA hosted a step-aside scramble with invitees from the Bay Point LGA. The new greens were a real pleasure to putt on!
Two teams finished with an 18 hole score of 64. A scorecard playoff was used to determine the winner; the team of Carl Selph, Dave Collings, Dick Kuebler, and Gwen Hedrick placed first in front of the team of Bill Hedrick, Ray Spock, Egon Seubert, Ed Helms, and Marilyn Mathews. Placing third was Don Corley, Tom Fagan, Art Bergman, and Theresa Marti.
The winning team raved about Gwen Hedrick’s sinking an eagle putt on the par 4, 13th hole.
After the round the players enjoyed the awards ceremony and conversation in Bar 72; the Prime Rib sandwich special was fantastic.
